HONG KONG

“Diamond of the East showcasing Chinese capitalism” – If this is your only perception of this amazing place, then you owe yourself a trip to Hong Kong! Many are aware of Hong Kong’s modernization and prosperity; outside this part of showy facts, Hong Kong also offers superb natural beauty and captivating heritage. As many describe, a visit to Hong Kong is ‘A lifetime of excitement and fascination packed in an incomparable destination.’

Hong Kong Island – Walk around Victoria Harbor to enjoy the breath-taking view of Hong Kong hybrid. Then tour Hong Kong as locals do: by ferry, subways and double-deckers. A tram ride up to Victoria Peak is not to be missed. From here, you can get a bird’s eye view of the world’s busiest port. Stanley Village open market, Repulse Bay and the “floating village” of Aberdeen (where you take a sampan boat taxi to tour the moored fishing junk community) are some other highlights. Do remember to allow yourself free time to enjoy the gourmet cuisines, follow crowds in the bustling street markets, and enjoy fantastic shopping and the bright neon nightlife!

New Territories – Visiting the New Territories is the best way to see another face of Hong Kong. You will be surprised at how remote and undeveloped some parts of the New Territories are. Visit Hong Kong’s most impressive Buddhist monastery, “Cheuk Lam Sim Yuen.” Don’t miss the Wishing Tree in Taipo, where you can make your wish come true by writing it down on colored paper. Another highlight is the Kam Tin Walled Village, built 700 years ago by the Tang Clan. If you stand on the hill at the border lookout of Lok Ma Chau, you can see across the great Shenzhen River in Mainland China.

Lantau – Lantau is the unspoiled island of Hong Kong. One of the best ways to begin exploring Lantau is through a fast and scenic drive along the expressway and the Tsing Ma Bridge to Cheung Sha Beach, where you can visit local fisherman at Tai-O Village, and worship the world’s largest Buddha at Po Lin Monestary. Don’t forget to enjoy the famous Buddhist style Chinese Vegetarian Lunch. As for returning from Ngong Ping to Tung Chung, Skyrail is the best way to go!
